Rus Run

The Rus Run is a live steel game featuring thrown weapons & archery, it is open to lords & ladies of all ages (under 18 with parent permission. Contestants 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent on the run).

The run itself is a fantasy trip up the Volga river in the Rus lands during the height of the Viking age. A small band of Norsemen leave their longship to venture inland for food and water. Along the way they encounter assorted game and unfriendly natives which must be dispatched with a variety of weapons including thrown axe or knife, spear, bow and varpa (rocks). These targets are encountered while walking along a wooded creek and are at random distances requiring participants to make judgments as to throwing/shooting position and weapon of choice.

Runs will be made several times a day on Friday & Saturday during the event. Sign up at Burnt Village Wares on Merchants Row (the large pavilion with the black & red roof). You must declare for Blatha An Oir or Stromgard prior to running, and points will be cumulative with all others declaring for that Barony. A War Point will be awarded to the Barony with the most cumulative points.
